Knightsbridge, SW1X and SW7: suites above the park, company at the door

At night Harrods outlines itself in thousands of small bulbs, and the whole of Brompton Road seems to borrow its glow. Across the way, Hyde Park lies black and still behind its railings, and the buses on Knightsbridge sweep past the lit department store windows towards Hyde Park Corner. It is one of the most glamorous stretches of London, and one of the easiest in which to go unnoticed.

This stop takes in SW1X and the SW7 side of Knightsbridge, from the park down to Beauchamp Place and Cadogan Place. Below are the park hotels, the nearest stations, the booking process and the three companions based here, and the rates page carries the fares.

Shopping streets and garden squares

Knightsbridge moves between two moods. By day Brompton Road and Sloane Street are all flagship stores, with Harvey Nichols on the corner and Harrods filling a whole block. By evening the side streets take over: Beauchamp Place with its small restaurants, Montpelier Square with its pretty terraced houses, and Cadogan Place with its long private gardens. Hyde Park is right there, the Serpentine shining faintly behind the trees.

The park changes the district with the seasons. In summer the Serpentine fills with pedal boats and evening walkers, and in the weeks before Christmas the lights and fairground rides of Winter Wonderland glitter above the treetops, visible from the upper floors of the hotels along the road.

It is a district of residences as much as hotels, with mansion blocks and apartment buildings whose concierges are used to guests coming and going quietly. Very little surprises anyone here.

Knightsbridge hotels on our route

Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, on Knightsbridge itself, where the rooms at the back look straight across the park and those at the front watch the lights of the street. The Bulgari Hotel, a sleek building of dark wood and silver, with a spa and a private cinema below street level. Jumeirah Carlton Tower on Cadogan Place, rising above the gardens, with some of the widest views in SW1 from its upper floors.

Named for the map, not for any partnership: none of these hotels has an agreement with London Babes. Our companions walk into these lobbies as your guest, and the serviced apartments and private flats of the area are visited in the same way.

The stations nearest the shops

Knightsbridge station opens a few steps from Harrods, so the Piccadilly line is a minute from the heart of things. Walk 5 minutes east beside the park and you reach Hyde Park Corner, on the same line. Sloane Square, with Circle and District trains, is a 9 minute walk down Sloane Street.

Booking an evening in Knightsbridge

Message the desk on WhatsApp or Telegram with your chosen companion, your hotel or apartment, the time and the length of the booking. Your identity is checked once, full name plus room, and nothing more is asked. To hold a standard hotel or residence visit we take 25 percent by bank transfer. An overnight or an event is held with 50 percent, of which the travel portion cannot be refunded.

Knightsbridge sits comfortably inside our usual window: after confirmation she is typically at your door in about 40 minutes. Pay the rest in cash on her arrival or by transfer, and remember that cancelling at least three hours ahead leaves a standard booking free.

A Knightsbridge night in four scenes

Seven, a drink at the Bulgari Bar, all silver light and low music. Half past eight, dinner at Zuma on Raphael Street, bustling and bright, with the counter busy until late. Eleven, a slow walk along Knightsbridge beside the park railings, the traffic thinning and the trees dark above. Midnight, the suite, with the curtains open to the black sweep of Hyde Park.

Four scenes, four hours, one dinner date fare of £1,300. A later start might need only £600 for ninety minutes or £750 for two hours, and the night through to morning is £2,400.

Who books company in Knightsbridge

International visitors on long stays in the park hotels, in town to shop, see friends and enjoy the city. Owners of apartments near the park who spend part of each year in London. Business travellers who choose Knightsbridge for its calm and its closeness to the West End. They tend to value polish, punctuality and a companion who is as comfortable at a busy restaurant as she is in a quiet suite.

Three companions based in Knightsbridge

Bianka has warm hazel eyes and light brown hair lightened at the tips, loves wine tasting and vintage fashion, and cooks beautifully. Margo, slim with long dark brown hair, is drawn to contemporary art, plays the piano and tends a small garden with real care. Sonya, graceful with hazel eyes and straight dark brown hair, practises meditation, loves ballet and can name a rare perfume from a single breath.

Their homes are a short walk from the park hotels, so they are often first to arrive. Anyone else on the girls page comes to Knightsbridge on the same fares.

Around Knightsbridge

Sloane Street runs south with Belgravia along its eastern side and Chelsea waiting at Sloane Square. Follow Brompton Road west and you arrive among the museums of South Kensington, and further along the park lies Kensington. Hyde Park Corner leads through to Mayfair.
