On a clear night Lucy looks up before she looks around. She has long, curly dark brown hair that never quite behaves, warm brown eyes and a slender 163 cm frame she dresses in a loose, bohemian way that still feels polished: a silver slip dress, a long cardigan, a scatter of thin rings. There is something coastal about her style, salt and silver and soft fabric, even though she lives a long way from any beach, down by the Thames in Pimlico.

An evening with Lucy
Lucy's favourite evenings end outside, looking up. They begin, though, somewhere warm: a small café that stays open late, where she orders the espresso and watches your face while you taste yours. She talks about painters and planets with the same happy seriousness, and asks what you wanted to be when you were small. Dinner is simple and good, a table by a steamed-up window, bread torn by hand.
